Adaptagens are very useful for regulating different digestive problems. Try the following to alleviate constipation or diarrhea:


1 grapefruit pith (or the pith of 2 oranges), 1 small onion, 1 apple

Blend ingredients together and eat throughout day between meals – 1/2 an hour before and 2hrs after eating other food. Sprinkle a probiotic powder over it to further encourage good bacteria in the gut. This concoction is an adaptagen; it will adapt to your particular problem be it constipation or diarrhea. Keep taking it until you become more regular.


Psyllium Husk is another useful adaptagen. It is a good source of fiber that can help with constipation by bulking up the stool, encouraging it to move through the intestines. It is important to drink plenty of water as it is by combining with water that fiber encourages bowel movements. Not drinking enough water while supplementing fiber can worsen constipation. Make sure you drink between half a pint to 1 pint of water with the psyllian husk. Add  1/2 – 2tsp to a half pint/pint of warm water, mix and drink before it thickens.

Psyllium Husk can also relieve mild to moderate diarrhea by soaking up the water and making stools firmer.
